This specification covers unalloyed and alloyed tantalum rod and wire. The materials covered are: R05200, R05400, R05255, R05252, and R05240. These materials shall be made from vacuum-arc melted or electron-beam melted ingots or powder-metallurgy consolidated unalloyed tantalum. The chemical composition shall conform to the required contents of carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, niobium, iron, titanium, tungsten, molybdenum, silicon, nickel, and tantalum.
